Lightweight Flywheel K Series Elise

Hi Guys

Can anyone give me some advice on the benefits of fitting a light weight flywheel to a K series Elise?

I have a S2 120 and I am contemplating purchasing and fitting an Elise Parts EN24 version, would love to hear what your opinions are and if you think they are worth the money.

I am using the car for weekend road use and occasional track days.

Thanks.

Thanks for reply Steve, I am aware of the benefits on paper, but would like to hear from someone that has experienced the difference first hand preferably in a S2 120.

I want to do this for the improved throttle response which will help with heel and toe downshifts. The weight reduction generally is worthwhile too as it is a few kilos and it might liberate a teeny bit more power as a little bonus. What puts me off though is putting the engine out of balance which could potentially be horrendous.

I have decided to wait and do it when I rebuild the engine and have the whole bottom end balanced.

I am sorry to say I am not as rich as you and cannot afford a Honda k20a conversion, so will have to settle with the best British engine ever made, in the best British car ever made.

That is one of my worry's also, as the bottom end has been balanced from the factory with the flywheel. So still looking for someone that has experienced the conversion.

Errrr . Think Steve was trying to help and share his real world experience of upgrading his k series S2 previous to purchasing his S1 exige, I feel your comments are a little unkind and not totally befitting of the MLOC forum feel.

Let's keep it happy and helpful as always

Thanks
