How Much For 'a' Service?

Hello....My S2 is in need of an 'A' service and although Horizon seem to be the place to go I would like a main dealer stamp.

 

Don't want to take it to my local dealer...so has anyone taken their car to Nick Whale for servicing? I've spoken to them in the past and found them very helpful.

As I understand it, Nick Whale are pretty good as official main dealers go. Not my local, so I wouldnt know..

 

However from my last check, it was just under £400 all in for an "A" at dealer (Orchard) compared to £100 at Horizon(specialist). If youre reasoning behind Lotus stamps are resale values, then it doesnt take much math to figure out that within about 2 services, it would pay for itself.

 

And I havent seen anything but praise about Horizon on here! Including my own..

£85+VAT, I believe, for an A-Service from Horizon.

 

Bit more at NW, but not sure how much. They're one of the more reasonably priced dealers, and I've only ever heard good things about them.

Fibreglass Services are the cheapest for main dealer servicing IIRC. I think theyre in Arundel though ?? bit of a trek. worth calling around.

 

Like Solobutt says...a main stamp isn't worth much these days even for resale value but each to their own.

 

I personally wouldnt leave my car within 50 yards of the robbing incompetent bastards. But thats just my opinion

Anyone in the Lotus community will know that a good specialist stamp is worth as much (if not more than some main dealers), it just doesn't cost as much.

For those in the know, stamps from specialists who hold the popular vote are worth at least as much as a stamp from a main dealer.

 

A stamp from Horizon, Sinclaire, Ragtop etc. is IMO worth more than one from some of the dodgier dealers (they know who they are if they read on here...). Only thing the main dealers have to themselves is the warranty work.

Certainly not to take anything away from Nick Whale, i think its £195 from them... which compared to £85 IMHO ain't worth the extra.

 

Horizon are excellent, look after the car well, are respected amongst the Lotus mob so the stamp is worth as much as a main dealer - again IMHO
