SpoonZ
Hello, I will have 2 cars shortly and will need insurance for both. Anyone know any specialists who will cover both and honour my 5 years NCB on both? Flux do it, but i need another few quotes. Cheers
Fiona
A few will give you an introductory discount that equates to the 5 years NCB. Try Eggar Lawson, Admiral, Elephant, and Tesco. You may need to phone rather than do it online.

Scott_Mac
If you aren't doing many miles in the Elise, you could get it converted to a "Future Classics" policy - i know Adrian Flux do this... it requires no NCB, is very cheap, but has a limited mileage. Seems ideal for a 2 car person

Chombers
I just insured my S1 as a second car with Footman James on their 'Classic Car - Club Lotus' Policy. I think the maximum mileage you can get is 4500 and the car needs to be garaged but it worked out the best for me. Just need to try to resist the urge to take the car out everyday and save some miles for the summer!

MattyB
Out of interest, with these limited mileage policies - how the hell do they know if you've done 4500 miles or 9500 miles??
Chombers
Good point, you have to tell them the mileage of the car when you take the policy out. So you might think it would be easy to add a few miles to the figure you tell them. However if the worst did happen and you did have to make a claim, I'm sure they would ask a few questions if the actual mileage was lower than when the policy was taken out! Oh and the Footman James policy doesn't use any NCB (although I'm not too sure if you can build up a second NCB with this policy).

Chombers
It was the ‘cheapest’ but still maybe not what you’d call cheap! I paid £735 which for my postcode and age (27), a claim in the last 5 years and a couple of mods (exhaust and throttle body) wasn’t too bad. However if you consider the fact I had to pay £650 to insure a 1989 Renault 5, third party three years ago I think it’s a bargain (or was it just the Renault insurance that was a rip off)
