Martin32
Collected my S1 around 3weeks ago, first Elise I've had and very pleased with it.......but.......checked the oil the other day and it was a little short from the full so thought I would top it up, but cant remove the filler cap? Am I just been a fool, is there some special way to remove it, all I'm doing is trying to unscrew it? Tried it when cold and when hot, just worried I may do some damage if I give it too much wellie! Can anyone help?
Mark H
I've had this problem before when I didnt line the cap up perfectly when putting it back on and thus it didnt screw down the guides properly. Only way I could get it off was with some big grips, there is no rocket science way to do it, should just twist off like any normal Rover engine. Steve J
Mine seems to get stuck tight too, even when I only do it up finger tight. No special technique, just brute strength. You could try a Boa if you don't want to damage the cap.
Daniel
No special technique, just brute strength.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Elise can't be for girls then if you need muscles to even undo the oil cap
PeterField
As Steve says try a baby boa (Halfrauds £4.99). Useful little tool for the money (Mine was also stuck fast when I bought the car)
