malbon Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 And Scott...stop pretending you have a 135 You've just bolted a head on
Joff135 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 As i have said in my advert...i am open to a sensible offer...bar a few stonechips here and there my car looks almost new...everyone who sees it can't believe that it is a 7 year old 'T' reg. I got it for a fair price 2 years ago from the original owner from new and i have added a few very nice new bits. As for comparing it to a car with 35k on the clock at £11,000...my car with extra expensive hardly used bits and well under half the milage is worth certainly a few grand more. It's like selling a house...my next door neighbour bought his large place for £450k 2 years ago and done it up himself nicely. He has stuck it on the market now at £725k...bloomin rediculous...it is worth probably £500k tops! It's not like i am asking a total fortune for my car...whoever sees it will love it i am sure...there arn't exactly that many of these around! Anyway...when are we getting the price for the 1-way Ohlins!!!

Anyway...when are we getting the price for the 1-way Ohlins!!! The problem you have is that NO ONE will see it to fall in love with it !. There are too many elises on the market to outprice it and get any interest. Even for what is arguably the most desirable elise s1 - a black 160 with perfect bodywork, 5000 miles, nitrons, 1 owner, totally mint etc. I really think the top price to be paid is about 14.5k.
Joff135 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 By all means have a drive down to Bristol Airport on a sunny day and come out for a blat with me...i don't mind at-all if you don't want to buy it and it will get me out of a house of screaming kids! It will give the battery a good charge up too! While in Bristol you could pop into Willams Lotus and have a look at their stock...i will go with you too if you want some company!
rustyveedub Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 my next door neighbour bought his large place for £450k 2 years ago Okay so we all now know you live in a nice house
malbon Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 my next door neighbour bought his large place for £450k 2 years ago Okay so we all now know you live in a nice house And you can afford to drop a couple of grand on your car you tight wad !
rustyveedub Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 I've added 4 cars, std, 111s, 135 and 160 on the following graph - hopefully it works... http://www.dyno-plot.co.uk/dyno/dynoplot/i...elise/index.htm Thanks for that. The 135 does have a good torque curve, which would suggest it would be eaisier to drive day to day. The 160 has an awsome power delivery but as you say no torque under say 3000 rpm. I would imagine it would be quite frustrating driving in traffic with traffics lights, islands etc. and with a CR gearbox the throttle would be like an on/off switch to a F14 with the after burners on As they say Torque wins races and brake horse power sells cars.
Scott_Mac Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Me and Malbon always fall out on this one... IMHO there is a difference between the models on the road, the driver is a more significant factor, but the car makes a big difference too! As for mine, i know i don't have a 135... i do have the seats and engine though, and that's close enough for me Offer stands if you want to have a mooch round mine... it does have a 4-2-1 Manifold which helps the torque nicely too... it's the one to buy as an everyday toy, the £11k ad i linked to could well be a good buy - provided it is an original and in good condition!

Scott_Mac Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I'm unsure of my plans tonight/tomorrow night, but the weekend is mostly free... Give me a call on my mobile and we'll decide when's good: 07720 257827
rustyveedub Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Hell, just get a Honda d one. There is one on pistonheads thats been there for ages. Im sure he d take an offer The one for 17k? After seeing the price of a Honda conversion that seems like quite a good deal.

With an interior re-trim and some Victory's that will be a very nice car indeedy.

Scott_Mac Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 What is the drivability pack? Re-timed Cams, re-mapped ECU, Vernier pulleys... Buy a 135 and spend £800 at horizon fitting BP270 cams - a bit like what i'm doing
