Lotus wins ‘Brand Of The Year’ in Carwow awards 2024

  • Lotus ends its 75th anniversary year on a high with prestigious award
  • Carwow judges describe Lotus Eletre as “a really impressive electric SUV” and Emira as “peak Lotus”

London, UK – 5 December 2023  Lotus is ending its 75th anniversary year on a high as it’s named ‘Brand of the Year’ by automotive one-stop shop and media giant Carwow.

The Carwow team was full of praise for the “automotive ingenuity” demonstrated by Lotus across its latest all-electric cars – the Eletre hyper-SUV and Emeya hyper-GT. Carwow’s Eletre test-drive film shot at the Lotus EV production facility in Wuhan, China, earlier this year has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

Mat Watson, Chief Content Officer at Carwow, said: “Lotus is right back on form and it’s great to see. The Emira is peak Lotus: light, responsive and fun; the Eletre shows that the British brand isn’t scared to embrace the future with a really impressive electric SUV; and the new Emeya gives me plenty of reason to think the company has a bright future.”

Conor Horne, Commercial Director, UK and Ireland, Lotus, said “Winning ‘Brand of the Year’ from Carwow is a fantastic finale to our 75th anniversary. With Eletre now in the hands of customers across the UK and Europe, and the world premiere of Emeya generating a huge amount of media interest and reservations, 2023 has been an amazing success story for Lotus. It’s just the start – there is so much more to come in 2024 and beyond.”

This year has also seen Lotus open new experience centres in London, Paris, Munich and Oslo, and launch in multiple new markets around the world, most recently India and South Korea.

Lotus also received a ‘Highly Commended’ award for the Lotus Emira in the ‘Pleasure of Driving’ category.

  • What is the point of a Lotus these days?

I have recently changed my Daily from a dirty diesel to an electric.  It struck me that the 0-60 times were almost identical, possibly quicker, to the Exige so my thought was, if comfortable family cars with suitcase room are now performing so well, are our cars becoming obsolete? Has the acceleration potential of EV’s made traditional sports cars meaningless? In an era where electric motor torque is rewriting the rules of straight‑line acceleration, it’s easy to forget what “fast” use

LOTUS Action Camera Mod for rear view mirror

Hi, my name is Marco and I'm from Liverpool, I'm new to this forum and new to Lotus. Towards the end of last year I started to get that itch of wanting a sporty fun car again (I had owned a couple of Mk4 Supras between 2000 & 2009) I was looking for a car that was not too big as it needed to fit into my narrow garage so I could hook it up to a trickle charger as it was not going to be a daily driver. I decided that an Elise would be perfect, after searching for months for the

Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)

Hi all as with most of my cars I thought I’d start a bit of a build thread. However unlike most cars which I bought and built up to be highly modified the plans for the lotus are quite different and so this will be more thread of its life in my ownership. I have also created a Facebook page called “Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)” containing images of its progress pre and post purchase. Newbie question

As the title suggests , a newbie query. I have just bought an S2 Elise , 2007 with the Toyota 1ZZ power unit in ‘ touring spec’. That means electric windows, a radio and , err, not sure what else. Anyway, that is not the subject of the query. The car is blue with a cream interior. The latter I don’t plan to keep. In fact , already bought some equivalent second hand door cards in black and am looking hard at a pair of Corbeau LE seats . So, first part of my query centres on those Corbeau seats. A
