Lotus receives all U.S. Regulatory Approvals to begin customer deliveries of its highly anticipated Emira V6 First Edition

Plymouth, MI, USA – March 14, 2024  Lotus has announced it has received full certification for its Emira V6 First Edition manual sportscar, allowing it to begin customer deliveries in region.Emira is a true sports car that builds on the legacy of past Lotus icons including Elise, Exige and Evora. The mid-engine premium sports car is the last internal combustion engine vehicle from Lotus, and perfectly embodies what customers expect from the brand – striking design, dynamic performance, best-in-class ride and handling, advanced aerodynamics and an unrivalled experienced designed for the drivers.

Everything about the car is made for driving enthusiasts. Emira offers a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine, 400 horsepower, six-speed manual gearbox with a visible gearchange mechanism and hydraulic power-assisted steering. It is perfect for day-to-day driving starting from $105,400.

Emira was recently named Car of the Year by Throttle House and won Best Performance Car at the UK Car of the Year Awards. The company has seen high demand for the car, with a strong orderbook globally.

“Emira brings together our rich heritage of lightweight sportscars with the latest engineering and design advancements to offer drivers with an unparalleled driving experience. We’ve had incredibly positive feedback from consumers and media on the Emira V6, and we’re thrilled to begin delivering cars in the US this month, kickstarting our expansion in region” said Mike Johnstone, Chief Commercial Officer, Lotus Group.

Delivering Emira V6 is a key milestone in the company’s Vision80 roadmap, which was announced in 2018. Based on three key pillars including transforming the business, revolutionizing the product range, and delivering results year on year, Vision80 commits Lotus to delivering on its business objectives by 2028, when the company celebrates its 80th anniversary.

The US is a key market for Lotus, where the company is continuing to scale the brand in 2024. Orders for its first electric hyper-SUV, Eletre, will open in Spring, with customer deliveries expected in Q3 2024. Eletre has also received high praise for its performance, design, and technology, having won SUV of the Year at the GQ Car of the Year Awards 2023, and Reader Award at the What Car? Electric Car Awards 2022.

Lotus Technology, the all-electric luxury mobility arm of Lotus, recently listed on Nasdaq. As a public company, Lotus will continue to ramp up production and sales, as it expands its global footprint. It expects to grow and further develop its product offerings, increase production, and launch new cars, whilst focusing on enhancing the driver experience.

  • LitP 2025 photos

Does anyone have any good photos of this year's LitP that they wouldn't mind sharing? Absolute Lotus magazine would like to publish a short report of the event and need some photos. Ideally I think they would like a selection of pics from the entire weekend so bbq, pootle, runs, Sunday breakfast stop the procession down Winnats Pass and Bamford. Photos of the people aswell as the cars are also welcomed. If you have any and are happy for them to go in the magazine without a credit or pa

    Fibreglass Repair

I have a fibreglass repair to make so thought I would share the progress here.  You'll see from the pictures that there is a large hole that needs to be made good, so I have a new repair section to bond in.  I'm fairly sure where I'll make the join but I have a couple of choices.  I'll make the final decision after a bit more thinking. Very happy to receive advice. A hole: Remove the aluminium under tray.  Unplug this connector so the cable can be passed through the wheel arch

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

Hi just wanted to pop my head in to say hi, first time poster. 🙂 I'm Little Steve, I've been running an Emira V6 FE in Hetel Yellow as a daily for the past 3 months and been thoroughly enjoying myself with it. It's my first Lotus and she's generally been very well behaved, random electrical quirks aside. I'm well into middle age and have driven allsorts over the years, I've been a massive JDM enthusiast previously but have driven plenty of nice cars from across the globe. I sold my GT8

Adventures of an S1 Elise in Germany

Some of you will know, but for the rest, I'll be working in Germany near Mannheim until end of 2026 with 75% of my time there, and 25% back home. As i fancy doing some different roads, and I've booked two weekend driving tours with Delightful Driving company (run by Elisa Artioli), on Thursday 10th July I'll be setting of in my S1 Elise, and 4 days later I plan to arrive at my apartment. I plan to post about my driving adventures over there, so keep an eye on this blog should you be in
