Anyone Had Trouble Fitting A Remote Thermostat Brought From Eliseparts

Hi Guys

 

I'm having some work done on the car (an s2 111s) which involves having the head off, so i thought it would be a good idea to fit a remote stat at the same time.

 

I've just had a call from an approved Lotus Garage (who are doing the work) who have said they've spent 90 minutes trying to fit it - and they cant. Thay are adament it wont fit

 

I'll get in touch with eliseparts once i've got all the paperwork together - but it strikes me as really odd - as everyone i've spoken to who has brought the kit (a large amount of whom have fitted it themselves), have said it's the best money they've spent on the car

 

Anyone else had troubles fitting?

I take it they're trying to fit it where the coolant pipes go into the chassis section behind the driver, rather than where the coolant hose goes into the engine at the current thermostat location ?

 

There's loads of space in the correct location !

Yes it should be a very straight forward job really. Like dobbo says the new unit fits drivers side where the coolent hose pops out the chassis rail. Then its just a case of cutting some pipes and removing the old stat (which is actually a complete b*tch).
