Car Won't Go Into Gear when engine on. (with K Series Exedy Clutch & Flywheel Set)

Hi, this is a nine years later follow up of this archived discussion

I've just changed the clutch and flywheel and I have the same problem.

I've now noticed the EliseParts product page tells about it

It may also be necassary to adjust the Clutch Master Cylinder push rod to increase the travel.

But i've increased the travel to the maximum and it still doesn't shift.

Should I get a longer push rod ? is this normal ? (1998 car).

Thanks for the help.

Hello !

What solved it nine years ago?

If it was me I'd start by winding the push rod back to where it was. Eliminate that variable.

Then work your way round the system.

Check the pipe from the brake reservoir is not leaking

Power bleed the clutch like 4 times. It usually holds air and dirty brake fluid. It's just keeps coming!!

Check the slave cylinder is actuating and not worn or leaking or just old and consider if needs replacing.

Check if there is lots of flex in when the slave cylinder is pressed. And needs  fixing with eliseparts strengthening bracket.

Check the adjustable gear cable bracket which holds both cables below the gearbor has been properly adjusted to centre your gear leaver and therefore throw.

Not the issue but trust me on this refil your box with redline mt90 gearbox oil.  It's witch craft in bottle.

That's what I'd do for starters.

Good luck 👍
