Jonathan E Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Im considering the Spitfire toe link kit for my car. Having looked at the seriously Lotus website I'm a little confused as to which kit I require. It seems that there is a choice between parallel uprights or Tapered uprights for the K series cars, Mines a S2 111s. I havent a clue as to which my car has so I'm hoping someone on here can tell me from this picture. I have emailed Dave at seriously Lotus and he speaks of 10mm and upgraded 12mm outer fastener, I can't be arsed with reaming the uprights so I just want a kit that fits out of the box. Heres the SL page for Spitfire toelink kits http://www.seriouslylotus.com/suspension-steering/spitfire-toe-link-kits and a picture of my grubby toe links Apologies for being thick but i don't want to order the wrong kit.
seriouslylotus Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Hi Jon Those are the S2 early uprights with the parallel hole. Not sure I should post a link on here........... The bolt size thing isn't really an upgrade as such more an option for heavy use or Race cars when wheel to wheel contact is likely The 10mm bolt is 10.9 and more than capable, the 12mm bolt is 8.8 but due to its larger cross section has a yield strength that is a bit higher (about 20% from memory) The down side to this increase is an increased risk of damaging other parts in an impact, rather than the bolt yielding the forces are more likely to be transferred further along the chain, so to speak Hope this helps Dave
