S2 Exige Ecu Question

3 posts in this topic

Just a quick question for you guys. How easy is it to swap the ECU? Is it just plug and play and does the battery need disconnecting first or is it only live when the ignition is on?

I'm picking up a standard one reprogrammed with the earlier cam change from Christopher Neil's this weekend and was hoping is was easy to fit.

Cheers all

Plug and play, connector has a sliding mechanism across the bottom that you need to slide before pulling connector off.

No need to disconnect battery .

Well I didn't with mine and all was fine, cam change is a great addition, it smooths out the transition and it's surprising the difference the 500rpm makes to how often you can get on the 2nd cam.

Enjoy

Cheers Rich.

Makes sense that the ignition has to be on for the ECU to be live.

I am keeping the original ECU as well as it has the wrong serial number to be reprogrammed so I can always swap back if need be but hopefully it will be all good.
