Is there a setting where when I click on my unread messages it'll take me to the latest post rather than going to the beggining all the time?

Not directly, although if you click on the link at the bottom of the email notification (Assuming you have that enabled and get one), then it will take you to the first unread message.

 

If there are multiple message pages you can always go to the messenger section first and then click on the last page number to go directly there as well.

I found if you click on View All Messages then you can click on the last added date/time of the message you're interested in and it'll take you to the last one. It would be useful if you could click on this when you have your listing of messages displayed after opening the messaging icon.
