Tony Must Be Stopped!

At our Royal British Legion meet this Monday, we were disgusted to discover that Tony has postponed the 60th Anniversary VE Day commemorations until July, because he wants to hold his election in May. He's also pulling forward August's 60th VJ Day, and holding it on the 'July VE Day' that he's invented, so we only need one event!!!! :)

For us, that takes the biscuit, is that poor excuse of a man, out to destroy our country's pride? :drive:

First he bans our traditions, then he 'moves' both VE and VJ Day! What a c**t!!:angry:

apologies to the mods for our use of strong language, but we can't think of any other words to describe what we think of him!

Elaine & Reg.

No way on earth are they getting my vote.

Steve and I were having a laugh (if you didn't, you'd cry) last night about the new transport guru Tony has employed. This new guy wants to put more traffic lights on slip roads to encourage people to shun motorways!

Eh? "Bloody traffic lights - I'll just drive through a built up area instead". Makes perfect sense....... :)

When are they going to realise that they have to learn to manage the traffic that's already there - not try to reduce it?

Long live democracy!

We'll get our chance in May (probably), when we will be able to eject the current bunch of morons and replace them with a different bunch of morons. Same suits, same unintelligible way of answering the simplest of questions. Main difference will be an alternative portfolio of vested interests.

The tories got a long run last time because there was a lot that needed fixing. Less needs fixing this time (Labour inherited a sound economy from Tories), which is why we've got tired of them faster.

But it's time for a change, just to swing things the other way again. Since 1997, there have been 917,000 new jobs created in the public sector (complete with index-linked final salary pensions, retirement at 60 etc.) paid for by the rest of us. If we had a slimmer economy, all those people could have been employed in wealth-creating positions in the private sector, made more competitive internationally by lower taxes and improved balance of payments - a virtuous circle.

Now, who was it asking for an answer to world peace, famine and a cure for all diseases?
