Just but an enhanced set for the front of my S2. The chap says to wait a couple of weeks after a new paint job for the paint to cure otherwise you can damage the paint - particularly when you come to remove it.

 

Is this common knowledge or is he being a bit cautious?

And anyone know of a local norht brum chap that can fit it?

Err, i may be getting some after my repair... so i'll be asking Hallcraft - by Horizon if they can fit it.

 

I guess it makes some sense regarding the wait after a respray - otherwise if you did come to remove it, it may not have dried/cured enough and you could take half the paint off too

So you can take it back off again when it's knackered? Is that the same with all those types of films?

Spoke to Hallcraft about it... they reckon you should wait at least 3 months (preferably 6) after a respray before applying it as the paint may not have hardened enough.

 

Consequently, i'm no longer bothering.

So you mean, spray the car, drive it for 6 months getting stone chips on it, then cover with the film.
