Hardtop V Car Wash

Has anyone with a hardtop on the elise put it through a car wash??

 

or am i just going to be a lazy arse tomorrow ..... before the rugby of course !

Good idea - let me know how you get on. If you drown in the attempt or fill every orifice to the engine bay and radiator with water, I'll know not to bother!

Lazy

The paintwork on Elises is fragile enough,just think of those nasty brushes scraping away at the paint....just leave it dirty

One tiny bit of gravel or similar trapped in one of those spinning brushes will tear your paintwork to shreads

Yes, you're lazy But I know what you mean, at this time of year it takes a bit of motivation to go out in the freezing cold and give it a proper wash.

I've started to use the garage jetwash as I can't be bothered or have time to hand wash it at the moment. Seems to do quite a good job! Wouldn't put any of my cars near a normal carwash though!

Call me old fashioned but I like to do it by hand and I’m so good at the wax on wax off, that I must but as good as the karate kid

Karate Kid - I remember that, I used to get the piss taken out of me at school cos my name is Daniel too and I mista been about 10 when that movie came out.

 

There's a guy that comes to our work in a kitted out van and does valets etc. I rekon I should start up a business like that. He charges £35 for a wash/wax and hoovers the interior and puts shiney stuff everywhere. Takes him about 35 mins. About 10 people at our place have it done about monthly. So £350 from 1/2 days work, and he's always saying how busy he is. Hmmmm (And he doesn't use Autoglym)

Drive it more... then you get round to the service intervals more quickly and then Mike washes it for you - and lets face it, he makes a good valet
