Zircon450 Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Any MLOCers ESPRIT owners ? Come on guys show yourselves, we do have a couple of Elans, this club ain't restricted to M111 models. Never driven one, and want a drive in a Turbo X180, can anyone fix me up, would make my S1 Elise available on return. Bob, desperate, needy, lustful !
Reg Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 I had a Turbo (Green with Gold wheels) for 3 years, but sold it last April, so we could buy the Exige Reg - Missing the Pssshhht on gear changes

Zircon450 Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 A couple of pics, Esprit <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah a Guigaro, nice, very nice. Gotta get myself a ride out in an X180 Exprit Turbo though, I can still feel and Esprit coing on.
Zircon450 Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 Gonna keep poppin this thread up til I get a ride/drive. Bored with the Elise now
malbon Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 ner you ain't get the new tyres on and an exhaust ! As much as I like my elise....there are times when i get bored and frustrated with it. Its often in the winter when we have a few weeks of rain and some night driving - and i just think - what is all the fuss about ? ive come to the conclusion that i just 'forget' how to drive it properly Its like when i went from my old elise to my S2k and back again - i was so desperate to get an elise again which i thought was an infinitely better car and when i did i was so disappointed for the first few weeks. Then I stumbled across a dry windy road and started to push it a little bit and it all came flooding back. It was like getting back on a bmx that you ve not ridden for years and doing a wheely all the way down the street Ok. im sad. im going to bed.
Zircon450 Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 Welcome Jon to my trivial posts, so an Esprit don't give you a stiffy then ? Meeedams e messuers paredon e mwah mon ourtrargee. Just working up my French for Le Mans
malbon Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 not really...im not into having second cars and this is what realistically the esprit would have to be due to my commute - and if i was to get one i would have to spend 20k+ as i would need a newer more reliable one....and that scenario stops right there...as parked next to it in the showroom is a titanium exige for the same money
malbon Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 but hey bob...indulge your fantasies ..... http://www.lotusespritworld.com/ nice site if youve not seen it before. it was the one that pursuaded me to get my 111s. Is this the best article in the world or what ??? how could i not ?? http://www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/LotusMod...sElise111s.html
Zircon450 Posted January 6, 2005 Author Posted January 6, 2005 ... As much as I like my elise....there are times when i get bored and frustrated with it ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I rest my case I spend 1/2 my time on LEW - sorry Jon, but the Elise is not cuttin the mustard, its going to have to be Esprit to sort the dream. BUT ... We will still be raggin the arris of the Orange Beastie in the 2005/6 sprint jobby.
Bramble111s Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 I echo Malbons comments re my Elise, yesterday I got up to 5k revs, which I havent for ages due to dark, wet roads, it was great and made me grin! I understand your Esprit lust, however having followed a few websites, I know whilst I could afford to buy one, I could not afford to run it, (as well as my home, wife and daughter!)
Ladders Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 All I can say is "Just wait" Warm day, dry road, bit of sun, roof off, you'll remember why you got it. Winters just to remind you how good the summer is! And you cant take the roof off an Esprit!
Ladders Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 Forgot to say as well Bob - if the Elise isn't exciting enough for you, stop driving like a puff!
