Thanks for the info.

I was at Nick Whales on Saturday and came basically to the same conclusion.

Simondan has been very helpful in sending me a video + sound track of his zorst.

He has the round pipe version but I think he has retained the standard cat. He has also added the CD induction kit. Sounded pretty damm good to me!

I wonder about the ITG I am sure it is very good but is it twice as good as say the Hurricane? :)

Also the likes of dealers would be bound to offer the unit with the biggest margin for them wouldn't they? :)

Also for that price you could add a 421 manifold which, from a performance point of view, is probably a better bet IMHO.

It'd dead easy to fit. Car on ramps, undertray off (center & rear part), undo all the bolts you can see holding the old one on, then replace with new, put it all back together. 1 1/2 hours tops.

The new item does sound a bit boomy at first, but settles down ofter a few thousand miles.

How far from Peterborough are you? I'll lend a hand if you want.

As I did the induction and exhaust at the same time I couldn't say how much of the difference is just down to induction. Overall the engine revs alot better, for more willing and great from 4K upwards.

Having covered 8500 miles and done 6 trackdays, the engine is now lossened up alot more, I would say that the performance is now twice as good as at 2000 miles.

Fuel consumption still very good with the mods, dispite the track days and a heavy right foot, average is still 33MPG.

Ian at NW seemed a bit dubious about the hurricane - not as proven effectiveness or something I think he said. Suppose that I shoul dtalk to someone who has one though, rather than someone who sells them - although Ian seems a decent bloke. Hadn't really thought about the manifold but I suppose working back from the exhaust, that'd be the next logical thing to think about. I think for my insurance I can afford to go up to about 15 bhp increase in total before they send someone round to give me a shoe-ing (I think that was what they said anyway), so might have to be careful about next bits and pieces. Am pleased with the janspeed anyway. :) Hated the super quiet exhaust and never did manage to get that valve thingy sorted.

I'm kind of in the same boat having done the sports cat, exhaust and loose throttle cable fix at the same time so can't really tell what's what. Would say that having all three done the car feels significantly better than it ever has. Am wondering whether there might have been a bit of slack in the throttle cable from new now. On the runs the S1 boys have been battering me for pace which in theory they shouldn't do - accept that they are probably better drivers and may have quite a few mods, but straight line pace they have been quicker.

In theory, the induction does what? Directs cold air into the engine more effectively? Have seen them fitted on s1s but never on an S2.

Can you read the other thread I've just posted re throtle pedal and let me know if this was your problem.

thanks

Personally I wouldnt spend the extra money on the ITG, I have a hurricane and its fine, your much better off spending your money on something else like a manifold.

If your buying the induction for the power I wouldnt bother, it makes your car rev a lot more freely (kept hitting the limiter when i fitted it) and it makes a lot more noise and growling :) when it goes but I doubt you will notice much of a performance increase whichever one you fit.

Cheers Mark - good advice. Read a thread on SELOC earlier saying that the hurricane was pretty good and so if there's no huge performance difference I'll take on board what you've said. No point in spending extra if it doesn't make much difference. Manifold sounds like a better option when I can afford it. :)

So far it looks like Janspeed round pipes and Hurricane then :D

Will probably get NW to fit since the car needs to go in anyway.

Better cars? :)

I have now got the zorst on (and had hurricane already) and it sounds great !! I found it a little boomy arounf 3500rpm but another 500 revs and it goes completely. I just need to fix the bloody squeeky hardtop (which I can still hear).

Thanks for the suggestions and offers of help.

Ben
