richbk Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 as the exige is snuggled up the garage with its duvet on (yes really) i have fitted my newly blackened wheels and would like to replace my badly stone chipped green/yellow nose bage with a new one. i know a black/silver nose badge exsists, but as anyone got or seen a black/gold version, sort of commorative of the JPS era f1 car as per my avater and the calander pic. it would complement my car quiet well i thought. any ideas greatly recieved richbk other than.....get and drive the f****in thing obviously .LOL
kimbo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Paul Matty used to sell black badges with gold lettering but they were c. £55 - ouch! Think any black/gold ones are likely to be enamel - look better than plastic IMO but knackered if hit by a stone.

richbk Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 kim you are a legend many thanks. £40....what the hell, its cheaper than the brake kit i was tempted too by kum i'll let you know how it looks. i believe dental floss and super glue are what i need for the replacement job?? richbk
kimbo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Noooooooooooooooooo not super glue. I used silly cone (clear) as there was some left from a bathroom fitting job I was doing! I found fishing line better than dental floss stuff and an out of date credit card to prise the old badge off. Be careful not to scratch the surrounding area.
richbk Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Don't tempt me Rich LOL you'll only want one if it has LED's i'll let you know how it looks why not superglue BTW, silicone is quiet dense and would surely "raise" the badge off the clam??
kimbo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 The rear of the badge is concaved/recessed so you can 'fill' with silicone. Silicone allows you to remove in the future if required. Superglue will make it impossible for you to remove and if a chav ever wants your badge and it is superglued on he will take half the clam with the badge if he tries to remove. Other than silicone you can use Silkaflex or the double sided tape used for number plates.

Daniel Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 LOL you'll only want one if it has LED's Don't joke My next mod perhaps?
