Deleted_User Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Where did you bump into him? Saw him in concert about a year ago, after the gig he spent time chatting to a few of us. Nice guy but to be honest came across a little strange, managed to get my CD's signed
Sonya Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Beck The Prodigy Cast Ocean Colour Scene Radiohead x2 Cheryl Crow Sting Catatonia Ash Reef Chemical Brothers Kula Shaka Super Furry Animals Massive Attack Youssou N'Dour Aphex Twin The Orb Primal Scream Bentley Rhythm Ace Daft Punk Beth Orton Bootleg Beatles Robbie Williams Stereophonics Faithless U2 Orbital x2 Underworld x2 DJ Shadow Banco de Gaia DReam (free at Uni and I was too drunk to realise where I was! They played 5 songs, 4 of which were "I've got the key"...) Manics Bay City Rollers (on at Milenium Hogmanay Edinburgh in Castle grounds, otherwise wouldn't have gone) Jools Holland Some of these courtesy of 4 visits to Glasto, some to other festival type events or plain gigs, and loads more experiences that my alcoholically retarded brain has erased over the years....

Sonya Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Impressed! You realise how hard it is to get to see Aphex Twin!? That one was 1997, courtesy of the Dance tent at Glasto. Can't remember much about it though...Banco are good and I'd make an effort to see Massive Attack again. That was also around the same time as my first and long awaited Orbital experience - off to dig out my scratched copy of the Green Album now Finished up my Orbital following with their last ever UK gig at Brixton Academy. Edit; OMG - I've just realised how old I am.................that little trio was 11 years ago! I now also seem to be into the likes of Jade Gallagher, Jane Taylor, Newton Faulkner etc am I mellowing? Although I did drive home last night exploiting the excellent ICE in the A8 with a rather fine rendition of Insomnia (Faithless) - which does kinda defeat the object of the 2 hour yoga session I'd just been to....
DunkHSP Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Ha ha!! I thought I was getting old cos more and more I listen to rockabilly and swing etc. Then all of a sudden i get back to the likes of Unsane, Mastodon, The Haunted etc. Napalm Death are on at the Charlotte in November I think if anyone is interested seriously.... I was gonna real of a load of bands of more recent years that I hate that seem popular for some unknown reason but think that rant would get out of hand!! Also have been playing in bands for years and must admit on the whole its been ace, met some top people from all over the world. The latest venture. '66 Wall Of Death, will be unleashed soon enough. If you fancy being deafened and amazed by our sheer lack of talent feel free to attend

Neil Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I'm impressed that there are a few Super Furry Animals fans on here
Mark A Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Very rarely got to live concerts, never that organised. I think this will probably go down as the most mixed. No specific order, just as I remember them. Pink Floyd The Bangles Beautiful South Amy Grant Jools Holland They Might be Giants Fat & Frantic Hot Rod Cats Peter Gabriel Del Amitri Runrig
davidcwhalley Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 This is my list in approximately reverse order of most recently seeing them (quite a few *2s along the way). Is eclectic the right word? I know I saw quite a few more mostly punk bands in the late 70's and early 80's, but I can't recall - it's probably due to alchohol. Elton John Kaiser Chiefs Pigeon Detectives Lou Reed RHCPs James Brown Bon Jovi Coldplay The Foo Fighters Ash The Hives The Cardigans Therapy John Ottway Jethro Tull Soft Cell Paul Heaton The Chemical Brothers Alanis Morissette Elvis Costello Stereophonics Alice Cooper Bob Dylan The (Motown/Detroit) Spinners The Four Tops Everything But The Girl Aztec Camera Tom Robinson Ultravox (with John Fox) The Stranglers Hawkwind UB40 Dr Feelgood John Miles
