It is great to read such good reviews of our MLOC stand at the Lotus 60th Anniversary celebrations, both on this forum and on others. We should all be very proud of how our club has been portrayed and the envy with which our stand was eyed!

 

For a club that charges no membership fees and therefore has limited budget for events such as these, we work solely on goodwill and favours, so we did ourselves proud. Even the photoshoot earlier this summer, which was a deliberate precursor to this weekend, was a massive event, so it demonstrates the support the club has from its members.

 

Thanks to you all for your great comments about me and my "secret weapon" organisation skills, I'm pleased you think 'girl did good' even though I left my whip at home... ... However, there are many people who contributed to the event in skills, services, equipment and shear hard work. Here are just a few, to whom now I apologise for the months of harrassment!

 

Lotus - for inviting us!

Dobbo - for putting up with the many hours of a missing wife over the last few weeks and all sorts of support in the lead up and on the day

Mark H - for support throughout the process for soundboard, website help, flyers, stickers and general MLOC Godfather guidance (oh, and sweets...!)

Mr and Mrs Howard Hartley and Super Pete - for all things Marquee and Transport, it would have been a whole lot harder without your support and you gave a lot for the day!

Charlie's Angels - the three Hartley daughters; Anna, Elle and Sarah for their help and for adding a touch of glamour to the stand!

EMK, davidcwhalley, stumason10 - for exhibiting their cars and spending the day answering questions from eager visitors

steve-n - for the fencing for our stand and setting up on the day

marmston - for the enormous and hugely impressive canvas

gerags - for all our printing needs

matturbo - for our keyrings

paulb - for our A-boards

midtec - for our display boards

Jaybo and Maria - for our new logo banners

Scott and JonS - for all the help with the photoshoot and subsequent images

Snapper - our very own Papparazzi

Greg and Ali, Martin and Liz - for helping set up on the day and manning the stand

thirdbrother3 - for the projector (even though we couldn't use it on the day)

EliseLaura - for accommodation and number plate research

surealillusions - for kicking off the flyer design

Ladders - for getting the new logo together

chris_h, Scott, Alan Stinton, steve-n - for films and slide shows for the projector

Everyone who sat in a queue for 5 hours, but still made our stand their first destination as soon as they got in and listened intently to my drivel during interview on the Lotus on site radio...

Everyone else who contributed in some way, including various companies,I hope that there aren't many more as you should be on my list....

 

Now I feel like I have finished my Oscar acceptance speech, so thanks again for all your positive comments and bring on the next one!

Sonya, ive nothing to add for a change You and many others make MLOC the club it is. Its refreshing as it has very few moaners and a great many people who give up their time and effort for no reward, except for the enjoyment of others.

 

IMO its to do with it being free and as such if you are not paying you cant really moan if you dont contribute. Its made by the willing contribution of the members.

 

We as im sure you and Chris have, have made good friends through it. Long may it continue.

 

You also get out what you put in, should be the MLOC motto.
