Mileage, Mileage, Mileage...

Hi guys,

 

I am assuming at least some people use their beloved elise as an everyday car, whats your mileage like ???

 

I seem to be wracking up a fair few...

I'm doing 2k per month at the moment....

 

Is on 38k

 

Some folk on SELOC are doing 5k per month though... which is nice.

I paid 12k for mine... i reckon i could probably sell it for similar now, but i didn't buy it for that reason... i love driving it, everywhere.

 

Did you buy it as an investment? If so, limit the mileage... if you bought it as a car, get out there, drive it and enjoy it!

I bought it to drive and thats exactly what i do....was just trying to find out what sort of mileage people were racking up

I'm using (Elise) everyday and agree the miles are clocking up circa 30k.

 

What I would like to know is when the old K lump starts to rattle, knock or other such similar event ?

I'm probably one of the lowest milers - only about 8.5k on mine in two years, but then I do so many miles and have kid/passengers to worry about, so use the focus for the boring journeys and the elise for all the fun ones...

 

In the two years I've had the elise I also put 25k on a landrover and about 9k and counting on the focus...

I hit 64000 yesterday, was on 57000 when i bought it in March, so i reckon i'm looking to do about 14000 a year, but it's the cars fault for being so much fun to drive!

Mines just rolled over 50k.

 

I think the engine is fairly good for 100k. Even if it isn't it's not loads to overhaul\replace.

Yes, Stu, and still going strong at over 130k now. Just treats it carefully - i.e. avoids going over 3k revs until it's properly warm etc.
