Kris H Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 OK, have just been into the Rover dealership on the way past, and this stuff is £4.14 per litre and apparently the colour makes no difference at all really, it just looks a bit puke like if you mix them. Unfortunately I managed to drop the fecking allan key thing into the undertray when filling the screen wash bottle, having had to undo the access panel things on the front. That's not going to p me off rattling around then. Quick release clips for me then. ARSE!
strees Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I have got 4 litres of the yellow stuff in my garage (IE the approved Unipart Super stuff)
Sol Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 Yes, I could have got it from a Rover garage, but whats the fun in that? Eh? I enjoy spending hours on 3 BBSs searching for "coolant" "orange coolant" "OAT", combing every thread(and believe me, theres lots), searching Google(unsuccessfully), phoning my mechanic, buying the "wrong" colour coolant, panicking when the coolant was barely visible in the tank(only to realise later that my drive is on a slight gradient and gravity was playing its part in a visual (dis)illusion), taking a trip to a Texaco garage, picking up the bottle of Havoline coolant, speaking to the manager about whether it is"OAT" (which he hadnt got a clue about), getting the 3 page product specification photocopied by the garage manager (he offered-probably to get shot of me), then reading the spec sheet-for fun, like. Thats what makes me so attractive to the ladies, Im sure. Like I said to my ex girlfriend, "foreplay is a 46 point check list and were on No.4....youll get your turn when youre done." I think after writing that paragraph, I understand why my best mate says "you certainly dont do things by half" in his "high security prison psychologist about to press the red button" voice. RIGHT, onto oil now!
daves2111s Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I've got a couple of cartons of Delmonte not sure if this will be ok.. it's expensive and it's orange... so I'll give it a go Thought about Tango... but seen the adverts so could be dangerous Dave
