Boot Release Cable

Well. I think we better call Norris McWhirter or whoever does his job now, because i did it on my own in 45 minutes!!!! ...and that included taking it all back out because i has forgotten to put the little black thingy on the new one!!!

 

Thank Dixie, for the tips - very helpful. I also have one of my own - tie and piece of string around the new nut and washer with a long loop on so you cant drop them down "the hole to nowhere"! thead the new cable through, occaisionally tugging the string to keep the nut free, then untie the string being carfeful not to lose it then! See pics!

this is the cable under the wheel arch lining. it helps to expose it to get the new cable through.

The thread the cable through - as dixie said, with tape to hold the cables together.

Then undo the string and hey presto!!!!

 

This has turned into a bit of a "how to" thread but if i can do it - it certainly isnt worth paying £90 for!!!!
