Started driving toward Shropshire/Bridgenorth this afternoon to aleviate (sp?) Bank Holiday boredom. Friend told me the roads were quiet, I had a tank full of SUL and no time limit

 

30 minutes into the drive, I was thoroughly pi$$ed off. Not only were the roads quite busy, but the state of peoples driving .... beggars belief. They don't know where there indicators or mirrors are, have no idea about lane discipline, cant understand speed limits (ie 40 in a 60, then still 40 when they hit 30 - but yet if you overtake them in the 60, you get flashed/fingered/tooted then they tailgate you in the 30 )

 

Then there is the state of the roads. I think I've just wasted £90 on my geo because I've hit so many potholes, ridges and bumps in the road that its probably worse than ever. I look like I'm drunk because I'm swerving all over the place trying to avoid them.

 

THEN there's the speed cameras. None in the 30mph built up areas, but plenty in the long, straight 40mph sections where peds cant access.

 

So I gave up and turned around, only to have some dickhead in a Red Escort 16v sit so far up my arse for the whole of the B4176 that I thought he was glued to me. I found out he wasn't when we got into a NSL zone

 

Either way, I needed to loose of some steam. I feel a bit better now
