I'm sure its been discussed at length before but can anyone provide a brief definitive on the legality/penalty for a 3/4 size plate?

3/4 plate is illegal. You may get stopped, you may not!

Last time I got stopped for an illegal plate the fine was £20, but that was before Tony was in charge...........

I see, it's a case of keeping a full size one in the boot with a 'sorry officer, I forgot to change it back after the trackday I've just been to' on hand then!
