● Silverstone is named after the ancient English word for 'wooded area'. Copse Corner is called Copse because there used to be a little wood here. Chapel is Chapel for the same reason. The Wellington Straight, which is now part of the new track, is where the Wellington bombers used to take off when the place was an RAF airfield. Hangar Straight is named so because that's where the WWII hangars were.
● Silverstone's new start/finish straight is actually in a different county to the old one.
