Lotus Racing today confirmed that the long awaited launch of the 2010 Lotus Formula 1 racing car will take place on the 12th of February in central London. The Royal Horticultural Hall has been selected by the team as the perfect venue to unveil one of the sporting worlds most eagerly anticipated new challengers and an audience of 400 guests including all staff of the newly formed team will be the first to see the livery of the new Lotus Racing car. Lotus F1 Racing's initial production and race team base will be at the established Racing Technology Norfolk (RTN) facility in the UK. The factory is conveniently located just 10 miles from the Group Lotus headquarters and will employ over 200 people by the start of 2010. The team will also concurrently build a 1Malaysia F1 technical, R+D and manufacturing centre on an 8-hectare site to be purpose built at the Sepang International Circuit, home of the Malaysian Grand Prix. LOTUS F1 RACING ONE WEEK AHEAD OF SCHEDULE Mike Gascoyne, Lotus F1 Racing Chief Technical Officer, has confirmed this week that the team is a week ahead of schedule on its build process and making excellent progress in all key areas in its efforts to be ready for the forthcoming Bahrain Grand Prix in March.
