I thought i would start a blog to explain my thoughts, feelings and experiences as a Lotus owner. First things first. Why a Lotus ? Its fair to say Liz ( my long suffering partner ) and i are not in the first flushes of youth We have got to this stage in life and finally scrapped up enough money to buy a sports car but which one ? Im old enough to have grown up watching old gold leaf coloured Lotus Elan sprints dash about ( deep joy ) Ive been smitten ever since. Me being me it had to be a British sports car. So it was TVR or Lotus. We had to drop the TVR idea due to cost, so Lotus it was. Which one ? We did toy with the idea of a real classic but due to us wanting to use it a fair bit we found ourselves the proud owners of an S1 111s in Azure blue. We choose the S1 on looks alone as we feel it is more striking than an S2 but each to his own. Ive also become the proud owner of a 1983 Lotus Eclat Excel but more of that later.
