  1. Sounds like an amazing few weeks ahead in an equally amazing car. I'm very jealous. Have a great time 👍
  2. And That's why Toyota forums are so boring. Common toyota owner post: Year 1.. car still perfect. Everything works. Year 2.. I assisted my car bleed its own brakes. Drank some tea and helped when asked. Car perfect. Everything works Year 3. Posted out of boredom. Car perfect. Everything works.
  3. What was your oil leak in the end?
  4. Excellent Job Badger Looks stunning outside and underneath 👍
  5. Thanks for the tip. Just ordered. Going to give it a go. Same as you I have a little bit a free travel in the brake pedal sufficient to take the pedal below the loud pedal when braking hard at the point i want to heel. Will see if this takes that away. 👍
  6. Just embrace it Badger, it's all part of the rebuild process. Road test found issue...perfect!👍 I hope I haven't cursed you with my cautionary tail about the EP gearbox oil seals. Waiting with baited breath for next update
  7. 13 thousand 8 hundred and 9...and a half laps of Anglesey long circuit. 😁
  8. I dont believe you're being unreasonable or necessarily reasonable. I think your right when you say 'In my mind they need replacing". Do it. you'll not get peace of mind otherwise. I've got the same tyres on mine and of the same age and prob same decent condition. Yes they will be less grippy than new. But in actuality they may well have loads of mechanical grip left for a fews years yet. When I say actuality, I mean from a recent driving course at millbrook where the car wouldn't spin on the lake of standing water which is the skid pan unless you were in first and booted it while doing a Scandinavian flick. In second it just hung on like a limpet until oversteer. The instructor couldn't believe it. After that my car was driven by a pro driver with me as a passenger round the alpine hill circuit faster than anyone here could dream of driving. Pro drivers feedback after that session..."God I love elises just as good as I remember but probably a little over tyred on the modern rubber". Just giving you another reference point in support of Dave99 initial observation. I also just bought a new set of wheels with brand new v105. The tread looks like mondao man but the rubber feels really grippy. I'm sure they will be excellent road and all weather tyre for most. If it was me I'd test drive it and if happy make use of the tyres until the tread or the grip levels tell me otherwise. But then "in my mind they probably don't need replacing" 🤣 Good luck with the purchase. The car looks amazing MrWill 👍 Ps I bought new wheels...I was just lucky in that they came with fresh rubber 😉
  9. Hey Badger You could try some stainless mikalor hose clamps. Much better than standard. If you're interested and know what size you need I could always have a look and post a couple out to you if I have any. PM me if that's of any use 👍
  10. Great progress pal, keep it coming 👍 Ps. Watch yourself on the edges of the nimbus. if its the single skin stuff it needs to be treated like it's an A3 razor blade that wants to hurt you...all the time 😮
  11. I suspect there's a drift which fits perfectly but needs-must and I went all blue peter on it. Those are the RP ones I used initially. Like I said they didn't work for me but that's just my one experience and likewise i could have messed up fitting. I'm sure they'll be fine. On reflection I preferred the oem design as it goes. Tomato tomarto Good luck 👍
  12. Great progress continues. Can I share some experince with the driveshaft seals (?). Many of the current seals are it appears, not made to the same tolerances as the ones your car came with and can leak even if correctly fitted. Makes prepping the surfaces extra important. I personally didn't get on with elise parts upgraded seals. I'd recommend the oem seals and soak them well before fitting, letting the excess drip out over the next few days until it stopped... and giving them a better chance of sealing thereafter. Alternatively I'm sure there's a seloc thread saying there's some honda gearbox seals which fit v. well and are top quality. Oh and I couldn't find a socket correctly sized to tap the seals in with but the old seals fit perfectly inside a new roll of gaffa tape, which I attached to an old engine mount to tap the new seals in through the passenger rear sub-frame. (Or...just have the right tool ! 🤣) Some thoughts and ideas to help you on your way. Keep up the good work 👍
