sootysteve Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I am waterproofing my roof using Auto Glym - hood cleaner & proofer / Fabsil. Is it best to do it with the roof in place or off? Thanks
sootysteve Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 In place! Thanks for that! Is it okay to use the Auto Glym water proofer along with Fabsil, or should I use just the one or the other? Thanks
Reg Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 In place! Thanks for that! Is it okay to use the Auto Glym water proofer along with Fabsil, or should I use just the one or the other? Thanks Not sure, I just used Fabsil, now any water just beads up over it.
nordberg Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I used renovo. Colours and restores. My Blue hood started looking a little faded. Took a deep breath before taking the plunge but all ended well. No tide marks :-)
Mr_Belowski Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Can you get a renovo thingamy for a red roof? Mine's looking a little shabby. Probably doesn't help that it spends most of its life screwed up in the bottom of the boot under the cant rails
DunkHSP Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I have 'Autoglymed' my roof a couple of times now. Its pretty good. Do make sure you wipe any runs off the paint work asap. It sticks like shit to blanket, I ended up usein petrol to remove it (the Autoglym not shit off a blanket). It is easier to apply with the roof in place IMO, if you have the cleaner stuff also amke sure you vacuum the roof first otherwise you kinda rub the loose dirt in.
sootysteve Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 cheers, all done now, used the auto glym cleaner 1st then tried fabsil, didnt seem to soak in well thou so used the auto glym proofer and gave it a good soak, hasnt seen the rain yet but hoping it will be good, the roof, not the rain!!! looks like a new roof again now though!
