daves2111s Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Has anyone gone for the deal at Nick Whales on the Lotus Sports exhaust and or the ITG induction system? S2 preferably. If so to either what did you think? Dave
Kris H Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Dave Before going any further check that they have one which will fit your car. The S2 111s has the round tail pipes and most of the exhausts available seem to be the oval tail pipe ones so you'd have to change the rear grilles. When I was looking the only round tailpipe one was the janspeed although I am sure that there will be others by now. Out of interest, what is the deal anyway? Kristian
daves2111s Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 It was a while ago (November I think) but they were getting in a bundle of the Magnex (sports oval pipes) also fitting the new rear grilles. I am not sure what the price was. Interestingly they had a huge pile of old Elise exhausts they had removed so they must do a lot of upgrades. I know the ITG was expensive. I might contact them in the next day or so and see what the score is. Got to get rid of my Rover part Dave
daves2111s Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 Hey was that the first post of 2004 I just made? How sad must get a life Dave
Kris H Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Dave If the Magnex one is the one that I am thinking of it certainly looks better than the janspeed, and has a decent sound. I had the janspeed fitted and it's loud but a nice type of loud with a sports cat, and infinitely better than the original part which is pretty awful. Going to see what it sounds like with the hurricane as well. Hoping to sound like a sports car but not go deaf! ITG/hurricane/reverie/carbon dynamics or similar definitely worth doing from talking to people who have the S2 111s since it's pretty notorious for constricted engine breathing. Owen suggested that it would benefit more than most of the other variants. Kristian
Scott_Mac Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Well as i'm in the office today, i may aswell use the company web server to host a vid clip - i'm sure i showed it to you before Dave, but its an S2 (std at the time) with JUST the Magnex exhaust on... of course the car in question has now got a TT230 kit on but i haven't any clips of that.... CLICKY!
Kris H Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Actually Dave if you were planning on doing both it is worth getting them done at the same time by NW, assuming that you're not planning on fitting yourself. Labour costs seem much more reasonable when they're doing a couple of things at the same time. I had my sports cat and sports exhaust done in one go and the labour costs seemed pretty fair. Parts costs was the same as it would have been from racespeed. Nice quick, clean and tidy job done as well, and courtesy car for the day so can't complain at all really.
daves2111s Posted January 1, 2004 Author Posted January 1, 2004 Yes Kris I agree. I could do it no problem but I have so many DIY jobs to do at home I wouldn't dare! Much better to get it in for a day get everything checked over and have some comeback if it plays up! Dave
