Marcus Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Hi all, As some of you may have seen in a previous post, my rear shocks failed about a week before my track day at Caldwell. I was running S2 Bilstien's. I was very fortunate that Junks had a pair of rear dampers for a 111r for sale and he got them to me very quickly, I later found out that the 111r Bilstien's were the same dampers as a S2 Exige. So on a bit of a long shot I decided to order some S2 Exige springs from Eibach and fit them. My aim was to stiffen the suspension slightly but still be able to use it regularly on the road. However when i came to fit the new shocks I realised I had missed something :/ I hadn't thought that the Toyota version of the Bilstien's were different to mine and wouldn't fit. Fortunately after a quick chat with Jody found that Elise parts did a conversion bracket to make it fit. This arrived about a day before my track day and fitted lovely. Exige front springs were also fitted to my standard S2 Bilstien's and I was good to go. I've been driving with it for several hundred miles on the road now and a days abuse on track and I'm over the moon with the setup, body roll on track has almost disappeared - this was my main issue from before. Road driving is slightly harsher but only noticeable when you think about how it was before. Verdict - very recommended! I would say it is one of the best setups you can get if your not wanting any adjustment. (Which I'm sure comes across to some of you as - the best of the worse) But I am happy with the ride height now, happy with how it feels and once my geo I done I now I don't have to worry about anything for a while I've attached photos of my old rear dampers compared to the new and a photo of my new ride height
