Ladders
Was underneath my car at the weekend giving it a once over for this weeks track day. Noticed that the lamda sensor was hanging around after breaking apart So, anyone know where to get one at a reasonable price? and anyone know if this would fit ok? Lamda PS I WILL find out if you outbid me on this Ta Dave
Joff135
I had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago. £75 inc VAT from Sportomotive in Salisbury. Lotus dealer wanted £149!!! There is a site called www.fuels.com i think?....£58 with VAT inc. for the original Rover part...mine broke while the 4-2-1 was being fitted in Salisbury so i had to buy the £75 one. Be careful of some cheap USA copies etc...as you have to mess about with the wires to get it to work!
Joff135
oh...had a look at that 2nd hand Ebay one...i personally would not bother with that...too old. Sometimes you get brand new unused ones on Ebay which go for a song! The average life of the Lamda sensor is about 5 or 6 years anyway due to the heat that it is subjected to...and that one has done that already! dss123
Dave, Looks like Joff has got a great deal there - Liz parts charge about £76 just for the part! One word of advise though mate, do consider getting the part supplied and fitted - for an agreed cost. I fitted mine myself - it took me best part of a day, had to buy and modify a number of special spanners just to reach the damn thing and I lost all the skin on both hands! The one advantage you will have, if yours has fallen apart, is that you should be able to get a socket on the end. I had to cut though mine - not easy with a spinning core made of ceramic inside a metal tube! Make no mistake though matey - it is the mother of all jobs! Joff135
It sold for £41 plus £3.50 delivery. To be honest at that price you would be better off buying the new one at £55.23 which will give you a proper invoice and a 1 year warranty!
