dale Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Hi, I have a elise S (56) (toyota) and keep getting an engine light on the dash. Its been back to the garage several times to be reset. the guy reckons its because i have an induction kit on as the error is p0171 on the reader indicating system too lean. bank 1. but the air filter and exhaust was on when i bought it and it never came on for 1 year when i had it. actually never came on until i had it serviced for the first time. the reader is saying poss causes are - intake/exhaust leak, air intake, MAF/VAF sensor, fuel pressure, pump injector, H20S. Lotus had a look and they reckon its the fly by wire throttle that needs changing. im getting confused with so many different people saying completely different things. if anyone can help with this or had similar problems as it would be greatly appreciated. thanks again Dale
pablo_paul Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 What induction kit do you have? My guess really would be MAF oiled filters can contaminate the MAF. So if you've cleaned it recently that could be your problem. Oh and if it has been cleaned recently check that all the clips are done up sucking air through a leak could cause it. After that it's a process of elimination i.e. swaping bits out until it goes away.
