I have a couple of questions if anyone can help me out! 1) Is it possible to remove the headlamp covers to clean under them? there is a fair bit of dirt in mine! 2) Anyone know where i can buy the smoked headlamp covers?Tried some parts specialists and cant find em anywhere! 3) How often should i be topping up the oil? dss123
Hi Martin, Yeh the headlamp covers can be removed. If original, with no clever mods, they will be stuck on with a kind of black gunk. With patience and carefull use of a blade they can be removed. Give'em a good clean and stick em back on. I think Bruce at Ragtop Roadsters sells the gunky stuff. Some owners re-fit using screws - I think there are threads out there for doing that. Hope it helps. Dunc

PeterField
Welcome to MLOC koopa I check the oil on mine quite regularly, i'm a bit sad and clean it quite a lot so just do it then usually, doesn't seem to use a lot though and so has only needed topping up every now and again. Car does have a tendancy to kangaroo a bit when cold (worse this time of year than in the summer too). Should be fine once up to temp though. I tend to leave it running for a few mins before starting off if possible as this helps a lot. You'll probably find it quite 'lumpy' regards pulling away or crawling through town etc too, but hey it's a good excuse to give it a few revs Also found mine was more prone to this when i'd had the battery off and then reconnected. As for your headlamp covers I wouldn't worry too much, they'll only get dirty again first time you go out in the wet Great choice of car BTW Get some pics on here. koopa
thanks peter, i suffer from car pampering too! i bought off a guy called Steve Taylor, dont know if anyone knows the car. It seemed mechanically sound and just needs some stone chips taken care of... possibly a new wiper arm and numberplate fixed.... and a new sunstrip (argh there i go!) any idea how much it costs to get the chips on the usual places sprayed? We re talking side skirts and wheel arches on both sides? Also, any exige/elise owners in the glasgow area on this forum??
koopa
Bah! forgot to mention, the black inserts in the side air scoops are looking a bit pst their best. Is it possible to have them replaced or touched up to restore their black finish?
Fiona
Hello Koopa, <thread hijack> I see you are a Muay Thai follower AND from Helensburgh. I'm a black belt in Taekwondo and originally from Renfrewshire. </thread hijack> You can use some of that Back to Black stuff if your vents are faded but if they are really past their best you'll have to replace. Ladders
I did Muay Tai at Uni after a few of my mates got beaten up! Unfortunatly nowhere round here does it, only kick-boxing, which Is a bit gay compared to Muay Tai! (no offense to gays!) So currently can't be bothered to go! Nice choice of car though Koopa
