Nick gee
any Lotus specialist in the sheffield area.Hopefully going to look at an Elise later and need to know if there's a good garage in the area to check it over for me. Thanks in advance, Nick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please disregard this post. Having just spoke to the gentleman who's selling the car the coversation went along the lines of this: ME: i'm just ringing about the Lotus you have advertised HIM: ugggh (thats the best way i can describe the noise he made) me: you still have it then? him:uuggghh me: er...er..(his telephone manner had started to throw me) could you tell me what the last service it had was ? him: (speaking in a language that was half English half chav) dunno have'nt had chance to look at the thing yet. me: ok..... BYE. What made it worse was it was being sold from a garage, talk about good customer relations......NOT. Still gutted i didn't buy Greames (sp) when i had the chance instead of dealing with these morons. Anyone on here know of a decent Elise for sale? halfpenny
Nick Check this LINK It's a garage not far from Sheffield close to where my parents live. I was up there last week and had a look around this car. Not bad condition and could probably talk the price down.

malbon
Id say the S2 is overpriced - due to the mileage but it is trade price i suppose. Nick..I am tempted to sell...maybe in a month or so or maybe after le mans but my price wouldn't be too dissimiliar to that S2 - mainly due to the low mileage, how well sorted it is with mods/maintenance etc and due to the fact that there are some real dog ass 111 esses going for 13500 - yet are still selling Like I said to Spoonz on the other thread - everything has a price but id rather just keep the thing if i wasn't happy with the price. I'd say go and check 4 or 5 cars out before you commit and your welcome to come and look at mine to benchmark them against. There are some nice motors out there but there are some shite with the elise market - best to take your time before committing. HTH Jon.
GCCK
Be worth putting out a differently phrased thread - instead of inviting (self-appointed) experts what to look for, ask recent new owners about their purchases, why they budgeted what they did, and what their perception is of the vehicle they ended up with. There can be a big variation in cost based on what work will need doing, or has already been done.
