Reducing Speed Limits - The Cheap Option.

Working from home today and needed to go to the Royal Mail sorting office to pick up a parcel.

 

Dismayed to find that one of my favourite stretches of dual carriageway (always used to test out the "hoofiness" of prospective company cars), the A610 from Nuthall to Heanor, is being altered from a 70mph to a 40mph. WTF?

 

I think councils have cottoned on to the fact that the cost of policing or adding a speed camera is incomparable to changing the road signs.

 

I'm noticing it on a lot of roadworks these days. Plus it was evident on the last Malvern run. They advertise barrier repair or alterations to a roundabout and then sneakily change the limits as well.

 

Not happy.

Oh well, you should be okay Fiona, just drive around everywhere at a coma inducing 40mph

Really, no way.........good piece of road that is, even got 120 out of the mondeo on there
