Mark H
Lotus F1’s recently appointed chief executive officer Riad Asmat told Malaysia’s The Star that the team hopes to finalize its driver line-up by next week. “We will name two drivers and a reserve. Negotiations are still going on,” said Riad. We can be 99.9% sure that the reserve driver role will be taken up by Malaysia’s Fairuz Fauzy. As for the two main drivers, recent paddock talk indicate that it would be between Jarno Trulli, Kamui Kobayashi, Jacques Villenueve and Takumo Sato, although among these four drivers, I would put my money on Kobayashi. Riad also reiterated to the newspaper the team’s plan of getting the cars ready for their test at the Sepang race track in February 2010. The team was also awarded with the numbers 18 and 19 for each car by the FIA for next year’s Formula 1 campaign. Stay tuned as we bring you the latest updates from Lotus F1 and hopefully we will get a confirmation regarding the driver line-up by next week, its been a long wait! http://www.icars.sg/2009/10878/lotus-f1-to...s-by-next-week/
