ipanter
I have a friend (no it isn't me!) who is about to sell his Golf, he has been contacted by a buyer from spain, who has agreed to buy the car without even seeing it. He says he will send a bankers draft for the cost of the car plus the cost of shipping, he then wants my friend to forward the extra money to the shipper, who will collect the car. At the moment it all sounds OK, but we both still think it is a little dodgy. I've heard of scams before that are based around a buyer from abroad, but i don't know anything more. Can anyone here fill me in on any of the details fo the scam? All help is most appreciated. Cheers Ian
Mark H
Try here: (The one titled: West African Internet Auction Fraud) http://www.met.police.uk/fraudalert/briefings/autumn2003.htm and here: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/home/ts-i...ews-carscam.htm Both sound very similar.
