SEAMUS-10 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Anyone else playing Gran Turismo 5 prologue ? I have my exact car in my virtual garage, great for driving in my living room when my son is tucked up in bed. Driving physics are scarily real, especially with my steering wheel. Only a few gamers seem to choose Lotus, so I try to see if there are any MLOC members playing, but maybe I am the only sad spode who drives a simulation when the real car is sat resting. Send me your gaming tag and I'll race ya ! I am SEAMUS-10, same as here. James
darren5591 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Got it yesterday, got an azure blue S1 elise & motorsport elise in Mustard yellow Not many players use the Lotus online, it's all Honda Integra's!

The Honda Integra is a fast fwd, but I posted a quick time on arcade high speed ring (time trial) mode, with no driver aids,in my S1 '96 and thought I was a driving god, until I realised there weren't many other racers in this catagory! Hope to race you soon, as long as you aren't one of those sore losers who keep trying to nerf me off whenever I get alongside (are James Bond style wheel cutters available in the options menu)? James.
grez Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 got it on Sat night from the online store after a few beers, not really had chance to play it since tho...will keep an eye out for ya
Keif Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I have it. Not got a Lotus Carlton on it. Saying that, i've still got my PS2 with GT4 and have 11 of them. I've done C - class, but i'm stuck on the Accord Type R 1 lap overtake every bugger challenge. I'll get there eventually. Playstation3 username - Keif74.
surrealillusions Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 not got a ps3 yet..cant afford it..but i really do want it, just for GT5 more than anything else..and call of duty 4, and grand theft auto 4.. Once i get it..i'll be around online for sure
Neil Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Is GT 5 Prologue the full version of the game or a cut down version?
Gary ZBJ Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Cut down "teaser", only 6 tracks (although you can play them in reverse) if I am correct, and one was in the download Demo. Whats the cheapest price anyone has this game for? I supposedly have a contact that can get it cheap, but as she is about to drop a sprog at any minute I am not counting my chickens so to speak. Gary
DunkHSP Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Is it that good? Looks killer but got to be honest I think for the driving Forza 2 on the 360 is the best thing by far (apart from the real deal, sad bastard tag avoided). I have always got the GT games, got my PS1 when the first one came out then the PS2 when GT3 came out!! Birthday time soon and the missus has asked if I want one but not sure if its worth it. So come on, how does it stack up gamers?

So come on, how does it stack up gamers? Have to say I love Forza 2 on the 360 and have played it quite a bit for the last 12 months or so. I wasn't expecting GT5 Prologue to be anywhere near as good as Forza 2. What a pleasant surprise I got; I would say the graphics are better than Forza 2 and the playability (which I feel is the main criteria for driving/racing games) is on a par with Forza 2. If you like your driving/racing games I would say it is an essential purchase.
SEAMUS-10 Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 I couldn't wait for the full version, I paid £25 for the prologue simply for the online racing, and it works well, although I can't search out buddies to race against, and prove to them what a stunning armchair racer I am! Can't remember the Japanese game developer's name that started the whole series off, but he's apparently a Lotus fan, and, for a low volume manufacturer that isn't sold cars in many global car markets, Lotus has always been represented favourably. It's great to jump into a fast fwd car, and then swap it for a Lotus and see how much faster you can go in a car with half the power! You can also drink and drive (without much success) It's a simulator rather than an outright arcade style racing game, so I get the most enjoyment making the cars drive as real as is possible.
stockhome Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 My wife lauged so much the first car i bought after the Integra Type R Was a S2 in the nearest to ice blue as possible I am so sad I also could not wait and paid the full £25 for a boxed copy
