    Herts Area Lotus Bunch Annual Blast For Active Social Types Like YOU...
    2005 Portmierion, Nth Wales. April 30/1st May.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Suggested route details are as follows;
    Meet at South Mimms, M25 Services, Potters Bar 9am April 30 depart 9.15.

    Suggested route only. Everyone is welcome to cut short, short cut, cut off, re-route as they like.

    Leap on the M25 and then off on the A41 to Aylesbury (meeting point for 2 or 3 Sevens), then Bicester, take B4030 to A44 at Enstone then A436 into Stow-on-the-Wold and A429 into Bourton-on-the-water. This will give us a fairly rapid run to our first stop but still with nice scenery

    First Fuel/Coffee/comfort/Meeting Stop; Approx 11.15am-12.30pm at Legends Racing, Sycamore Barn, Bourton-on-the-Water Industrial Park, Cheltenham GL54 2HQ

    Legends Racing is half a mile from the village centre and we'll arrange a sandwich bar to supply us with a snack. They race and prepare some fine machinery and hopefully they'll have some on show for us to peruse.

    Bourton-on-the Water - Portmeirion.
    On the way out, probably taking the back road across country to join the B4077 a couple of miles up from Gloucester area's monthly meet at Ford would be the way to go. This will then take us and some of the Gloucester boys, to Tewkesbury (A438), Lovely Ledbury, Leominster along the A44 into the hinterland of Mid-Wales toward Kington.

    Stopping (30 minutes from arrival about 2.15 pm) at The Burton Hotel is set in idyllic surroundings near the border between Wales and England in Kington itself with it's own car park and excellent bar meals. I'm pre-warning them of a need for (more) sandwiches and coffee).

    After a stop at this point for tea and a bun we will carry on the A44 ?///

    //option route 1..... to Riyader taking us up and over the Cambrian Mountains and the twisting but fun road to Aberystwyth. This will take an hour and a half. We then follow the coast Route (A487) past the Dovey Valley at Machynlieth round the famous Cadir Idris Hills into Dolgellau. A quick fill-up at this point will see us through Snowdonia National Park on the A470 and our stop for the night at Criccieth just past Porthmadog on the A487.??/////

    /// option route 2... to Crossgates near Llandrindod turning right on the A483 to Newtown, A489 then A470 to Machynlieth round the famous Cadir Idris Hills into Dolgellau. A quick fill-up at this point will see us through Snowdonia National Park on the A470 and our stop for the night at Criccieth just past Porthmadog on the A487???/

    ////option route 3...||||\Leominster and Ludlow, A49, A489 and A490 to Welshpool, A458 and A470 to Dolgellau, then A470 North and hang a left onto the A487 to Porthmadog and Criccieth.

    Routes yet to be decided...any reccomendations?
