ryan.wilkinson
I have never tracked a car with a soft top before. Do I have to wear a helmet for either a track day or a 1st Lotus Day????

Bramble111s
To confirm, 1st Lotus no need, (as Malbon says) at a trackday you will want to wear one!

Zircon450
I would say you would be mad not to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would ditto that, even if you are a top F1 driver, remember theres always that twat Coulthard about. Helmet yes, and bother to get an MSA approved one incase you do some real competition events. Saves buying two ! Tango190
Snapper
Out of interest, when MLOC members do trackdays what do they where? I know some people where race suits should the worst happen. I have seen people wearing normal cloths with the rules saying arm & legs must be covered.... But I have seen pictures of people at trackdays in shorts & t-shirts... Mark A
On trackdays you MUST wear helmets, and the rules could be tightening up, but even so at some circuits you need a proper Type A helmet. Clothing wise you must have arms and legs covered, occasionally people slip through but this is the rules. There are people who wear proper race suits but they are a minority, and it's down to personal preference. Nylon is a no-no though IMHO.
Zircon450
Just adding to Mark's words, if anyone needs info on helmets get hold of a copy of the MSA (Blue) Yearbook Section Q10 gives full type approval if your doing competition work, and are not sure if your helmet is compliant.
