Bramble111s
As I have been abused for having VVC160 stickers on my Elise 111s and told the engine does not exist by Andy (1st lotus, who should know!) I am very confused to see this on pistonheads?!!? 1997 Caterham Seven (de-dion) fitted with VVC EU3 160 engine Is the 160 engine in fact VVC? Does this mean my 111s has this engine? I am confused, or does the guy selling this car subscribe to the same rubbish the bloke who stickered up my Elise does? DOh... its so confusing. I presume Andy is right of course..... ? Ladders
VVC kicks out roughly 160! (well 156bhp)
Simon G
The S1 111s had a VVC K series engine which made around 145bhp. The S2 111s has a VVC K series which makes around 156bhp, some people refer to it as a sport 160, not the same as the S1 sport 160!!
Bramble111s
Presumably refering to a 111s as a 160 is however incorrect, especially as there is a 160 model! (as you point out)
Scott_Mac
The VVC 160 is also used in the MGF Trophy 160 (where the throttle body got its name from) it relates to the PS and as Simon says is actually around 156bhp... yours as also stated above is around 143bhp though.
