Who is the reliable source Dean?
I’ve lost count of the number of times I jump started mine - (I do part charge the battery first) been through lots of batteries too coz I don’t use it every week - ecu is still perfectly ok. Common issue jumpstarting a car is people leaving the ok car running when turning the other car over - this can kill the intelligent alternators (weakens and blows the diodes or regulator pack a few weeks or months later) on the ok car, also you need to leave the leads connected for a few mins while the totally dead battery starts charging or you could do the same to the flat car if really unlucky.
Anyway - If the motor is running, it’s probably ok. If it’s been flat for ages the ecu needs to relearn its settings and the TPS and IACV might need a clean as mentioned - they do have a habit of playing up.
All the lights and wipers on is weird an probably low voltage and may be a dodgy earth for the clocks - might be worth checking the alternator fuse next to the ecu if it wont charge up, maybe the fuses too, but ecu only runs engine, fans, speed, revs and mil light - but if you’ve dropped it off at Gav’s no probs.
The 2 or 3 rear fuses in engine bay are only fuel pump (20), immobiliser (20) and a 7.5 for something else - forgot. But nothing that impacts your issues.
If it did actually need a new ecu (usually because it got wet and the rain cover was off) - you’d need to know that these are different based on model - think the 111s is different due to VVC and mapped to 160 verses the std 118bhp.
Hopefully you’ll get to use it when you get it back. Hopefully just a new battery and some labour to check everything else.
