Nearly There On Running In

Sunday 11 Jan and 586 miles done. Just 14 more and I can try out the cam change for the first time. That should be on the way home from work tomorrow.......

Its been very cold and slippery this week, so I was going very gingerly on Monday and Tuesday. If you just have to pootle along in cold weather limited to half revs, the Elise can feel heavy and uncomfortable with a very hard ride. However when you can push it a bit and take it by the scruff of the neck, it comes alive and just feels fantastic. It is just so involving and so much fun and all at legal speeds.

Even while runing in, its easily as quick to 60mph in real world driving as my old TT (56 plate 2.0 TFSI S Tronic). However in the Elise, you have to really drive the car and be in the right gear at the right time, whereas in the TT it was a couple of twiches on the paddle shift and go. The Elise is so different.

Had the roof off a few times, but it was just so bitterly cold. No such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing....I just have not found the right jacket yet even after a trip to Go Outdoors.

The traction control still is not fixed - the swtich is still on order from Lotus. The only other problem with the car is still the driver's door window, which does not seal properly and so there is a lot of wind noise from behind my right ear (its all quiet on the passenger side). All should be fixed when it goes into Stratstone for the TC switch......whenever that is.....?
