The Peace Process Has Never Moved So Fast!

Lotus joins forces with Peace One Day to raise funds and awareness for the incredible non-profit organisation whose campaign to bring about peace is changing the world one day at a time.

Peace One Day’s goal is to establish an internationally recognised and adopted ‘Peace Day’ – just one day a year of ceasefire and non-violence throughout the world. As idealistic as it may sound, this amazing cause is making a genuine difference and was unanimously adopted by United Nations member states in 2001 as 21 September. Lotus is working with Peace One Day to do what it can to promote this very special cause.

Peace One Day’s campaigns and activities in education, music, film, sport, dance, art and online have encouraged millions of people to get involved marking Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organisations have carried out life-saving activities in areas of conflict as a result. Notably, Founder Jeremy Gilley and Peace One Day Ambassador Jude Law travelled to Afghanistan to spearhead a campaign that, over the years, has resulted in 4.5 million children being vaccinated against polio in hitherto unreachable areas, this was achieved as a result of Peace Day agreements by all parties in the region.

But together we can do so much more! Building on the idea of a defined calendar period, Lotus will be raising funds and awareness for ‘Peace Day’ throughout the month of September by donating 10% of its Lotus Originals Regent Street revenue to Peace One Day. Lotus will also use its amazing Piccadilly Circus location to promote ‘Peace Day’ with eye-catching window displays and will also be holding a very special in-store event on September 30th with VIP appearances from the Lotus F1 Team®.

“Lotus is a family organisation and we believe that family spans nations and borders, so we are happy to support Peace One Day which through its fantastic initiative is making real difference to families across the globe. It’s amazing what can be achieved if we all work together for a single outcome.” Aslam Farikullah, Lotus Cars Chief Operating officer commented on the project.

Jeremy Gilley, Founder said “Peace One Day is incredibly grateful to Group Lotus for its support. Our fantastic work together, informing millions of people about Peace Day, 21 September, will undoubtedly help Peace One Day in its effort to institutionalise the day, making it a day that is truly self-sustaining.”

  • Bilstein Repair Service

Hi A couple of weeks ago my 2008 Elise failed its MOT due to leaking rear Bilstein dampers. A look on elise parts and they were £330 incl Vat each without the springs, so I decided to look at my options and found out that Bilstein offer a rebuild service. Dropped them of at their service centre in Leicester last Monday, picked them up yesterday. £140 incl vat per damper for new seals, pistons, gas and oil plus a degrease so less than half the cost of new ones. Very good

    S1 Type 49 Elise Refresh

And so the winter refresh of my S1 Elise started today. Hoping to take front clam of tomorrow. However of the 4 lower bolts that hold the lower rear to the chassis, 2 are spinning and 2 won't budge despite copious amounts of penetrative oil over the last few months. The Eagle eyed will spot my Dremel tool which I'm not looking forward to using to remove 4 bolt heads that have limited access. Currently on my list are replacing the driving lights brackets, shot blast and paint the tow post, n

    Tyre Quandry - New Elise

I went to see a ‘new’ Lotus today. It was bloody lovely. It’s a 15 plate so around 8-9 years old. Fitted to it were Yoko Advans AD07 front and rear. The front ones were 175/55R16 which you can’t get anymore (195/50R16 seems to be the option for fronts). Either way, by my man-maths, the tyres must be as old as the car. The date stamp on one of the fronts and one of the rears was 4814 so made end of Nov ‘14. The previous owner tracked it a lot so I’m assuming he used a 2nd set of wheels/tyres and

    S3 Elise Brakes

Since owning my Elise 240 Final Edition I've felt that the brakes weren't the best. Seemed to lack initial bite and lacked "feel" through the pedal. Over the past few weeks I've had 2 occasions when driving in the rain where I've gone to brake and found there to be very little there, had to press the pedal a few times and wondered whether I was going to stop in time - not a comfortable feeling. As I'd never been keen on the feel of the brakes I always planned to change the pads at some poin
