The M1-11 Call it Elise Then add a bit more of a sporty edge... the 1-11S Add a bit more power and you have an Elise 160 Add a bit more track focus and hard top and you have an Exige WOW! All of this from the same chassis Hey, lets create a GT version... we'll call it the Europa! Now were cooking, how about a supercar version... the ESPRIT! How many derivatives of the M111 will there be I hope the NEW Esprit will hold more in common with the old Esprit than the Elise.
Steve J Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 It's unlikely that the new Esprit will look like the Elise as it's supposed to not have an Elise-like chassis. Instead it's a stressed monocoque. As for the picture, that would have been more acceptable as the Europa. It looks softer and more coupe-like. If that's the S3, then the Elise is definitely going all soft and safe. Need to get back to basics Lotus and produce a raw, hardcore, blistering performance car with no frills and loads of thrills.
