Chrome Door Pins, How Do You Fit Them?

Hi All,

 

I'm a new member/elise Mk1 owner. (Bought as a sneeky Christmas present to me). Missus not best pleased especially as she is too small to reach the pedals. Ha Ha.

 

Anyway she has bought me some shiny bits for Christmas inc. Alloy Door pins which should look great bought after taking the door card off I can't fathom out how to fix them. There are no instructions.

 

The pins are actually allen bolts attached to a rubberised rawl plug with a nut inside the rawl.

 

I thought I could push them into the holes in the door and they would be secure but they are too wide and I don't want to be having to widen the holes in the door with a file.

 

Anyway thought sod it and went out for a drive. Hour Later and I'm back posting this messgae with a stupid grin on my face. (Elise ownership Eh...... )

 

If anyone has fitted these or has any ideas it would be a great help.

you need to drill the holes to widen them. Search the BC BBS archives to find out the correct size. It sounds bloody awful drilling through fibre glass but needs must.
