Merry Christmas all hope everyone’s having a fantastic break.

I noticed this morning that my expansion tank is looking strange (I think). All the coolant is on one side of the tank instead of in the bottom? Is this normal? IMG_2361.thumb.jpeg.b4627b63f9b9d37a3900702fae971b77.jpeg

I think that's how it is supposed to work.  It is to help with bleeding.  The small chamber fills up and any air bubbles can be expelled through the white plug at the top.  The coolant can then flow to the main chamber to be re-circulated.

That’s how it should be! As the coolant expands it pushes into the main tank in the bottle, when it cools and contracts it goes back. As said, the white plug is to let any air our, once done should never need to be done again.

One thing to watch, sunlight can make the plastic very brittle and the fall apart.

Ok so it looks normal, thanks guys. I've only had the car for 6 months and never noticed it before.
Thank you all 👍

I would recommend upgrading to an aluminium tank if you can. These are known to crack, like mine did. Just saying :)
