Lotus evora 'special' rear vent - I'm not going mad...am I

Hello

Took off the rear passenger wheel arch liner of an evora and found this air vent just sat there loose.

Various things indictate the wheel arch liner has not been off since it left the factory. So while Im pretty confident it does not belong on the car.  Is anyone able to just squish that last scintilla of doubt for me...because it's such a random thing to be there from the factory?

Every car has these vents unless the body is particularly badly sealed. Not sure where it should be on Evora but sounds like is been popped out. They allow the air that’s blown into the cabin to exit otherwise the fan is trying to inflate the cabin of the car when the doors are shut.

Okay thanks Matt. I'll scour the workshop manual to see if i can locate it.

I've had a look on Deroure and couldn't spot it there. There is always the possibility that the guys at Norfolk put the car together on the 1st April 😂. The vent does look quite clean which hints that it may not have any air flow near it, in comparison to the ebay picture.

Thank you pal, thats really helpful. It defo  hasn't been used its just dusty from 15 years of just sitting behind the wheel arch liner. Im satisfies now it doesnt belong on the car. Thanks again

Not a problem glad to help. Apologies for giving you a bit of extra work but that's half the fun.

It very much is half the fun Matt. Which I had early this morning.  Two of these one either side of the luggage compartment. I think some one has inadvertently pushed it out from inside the boot and either didn't realise or couldn't be bothered ( jack up, wheel off, arch liner back, blindly push vent around with arm fully pit deep inside the bumper trying to locate the aperature).
